Can I tell you how relieved I am not to be pregnant anymore? On the drive home from the hospital I asked Chuck how many minutes he thought it would be before one of the kids commented on my belly--which is still the size it was when I was 4 months pregnant. The first thing Chalie said after taking a peek at the baby was, "Hey, why are you still fat?" Oh, the honesty of a 6 year old:)
I'm surprised how much I've forgotten in the three years since Jane was born, but it's all coming (painfully) back:) Chuck has been awesome--taking care of kids, cleaning, and cooking so that I've been able to rest more than I did with any of the other kids. And, of course, I don't know how anyone would be able to survive a new baby without the help of wonderful friends and neighbors. Mike and Maren (who have a new baby of their own) took our kids for 3 days--which I am so grateful for, because otherwise our kids wouldn't have had any kind of 4th of July celebration. Mike and Maren took them to the fireworks, parade, and pancake breakfast--I'm sure they're feeling like maybe 2 kids is plenty.
Chuck wanted some German influence in the name, so he chose Mathilde after his great, great grandma. He's been listening to "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" since we brought her home:)

CONGRATULATIONS, you guys! seriously, she is beautiful...so glad that she is here and that you and baby are both doing well. it was so good to see you a little bit ago and i hope that i get to meet your new addition the next time you come to utah! love the name, by the way!
Congratulations! Don't you love the way she smells and how soft she is?! My sister just had a baby a month ago and I wanted to steal her! I told her I would give her back when she was 18 months old ")

Loving her dark hair! Does she sorta take after Charlie in a cute girlie way? I wonder if she'll keep the dark hair...or go blonde like all my dark babies have done:) So cute!
