First Day of School

Does anyone else think that the middle of August is way too early to start school? I vote to wait until after Labor Day. Briton started kindergarten and was so excited he could hardly stand it. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in his classroom. Parker and Charlie wouldn't let me help them get dressed for school and refused to wear anything with buttons or a collar...I thought only girls were picky about clothes.

I was hoping that having three kids in school would give me a nice break, but after having them in school for a few weeks, I've decided that sending them to school requires just as much time and effort as keeping them home for school.

Since school started, my life has been a blur of papers, folders, backpacks, lunches, soccer uniforms. It is literally making me crazy. I missed a dentist appointment. I forgot that I had to speak at R.S. enrichment. I rescheduled my dentist appointment and then on the appointed day, I hurried to get my house clean, fed the baby, dropped the girls off at Maren's and right before I left I decided I'd better double check the calendar to make sure I had the time right. The appointment wasn't until the next day.

AND...I was just called to be the cub scout leader for Parker's age group. I'm not sure that having 10 rambunctious boys at my house every Thursday is going to help the chaos level in my life, but what can you do? Does anyone have any advice for me on how to simplify and organize? Please, enlighten me. I'm serious.
