We said goodbye for the winter to Ernie and Mary--two of our favorite people. They are second grandparents to the kids--they keep a stash of treats on hand for when the kids run across the street to say hello. Mary has been trying to teach me to make tortillas, but says that mine look like "a map of the united states." I've got to practice over the winter and maybe I'll be able to make a round one by the time they get back:)
After Aunt Maren's yard sale Charlie was determined to have his own yard sale to raise some money for a lego set. After 30 minutes he came in, completely exasperated, and said, "Like 2 million cars have gone by and none of them stopped!", so Grandma came to the rescue and bought a few cars.

We said goodbye to our other favorite grandparents, Frank and Deanna, who moved to Vegas. They have been the best neighbors and my kids don't quite know what to do without them. A few days ago Jane came and crawled into bed with me around 6:00 a.m. and in her saddest voice said, "I'm missing Frank."
